Talkgroups (TGs)
Full-Time TGs are just that, they are on all the time. Full-Time TGs will hold off other network traffic for three minutes from the most recent local transmission. Local TGs take priority and will hold off other network traffic for five minutes. Exceptions to timers are made for nets.
PTT-activated (on-demand) TGs are dormant until activated by a local user’s transmission. PTT-activated TGs will hold off other network traffic for three minutes from the most recent local transmission. Local TGs take priority and will hold off other network traffic for five minutes. The standard activation time for a PTT-activated TG is 15 minutes, however, some might have shorter timers. A PTT on that TG will reset the timer. Exceptions to timers and on/off statuses are made for nets.
In the table below, the “TS” column indicates the time slot used and the “F/P” column indicates whether the talkgroup is Full-time or PTT-activated.
