About Talkgroup Availability
- Static talkgroups are always active until a local user activates a dynamic talkgroup on the same time slot.
- Dyanmic (on-demand, push-to-talk (PTT)-activated) talkgroups are dormant until activated by a local transmission.
- The standard activation time for a dynamic talkgroup is 15 minutes. A local transmission on that talkgroup resets the activation timer.
- Static and dynamic talkgroups hold-off other network traffic for three minutes from the most recent transmission.
- Local talkgroups take priority and hold-off other network traffic for five minutes.
- Exceptions to timers and activation statuses are made for nets.
